Jean-François Côté

As a litigator, Mr. Côté is frequently involved in civil, commercial and tax litigation. He is regularly called upon to intervene in matters involving injunctions, safeguard orders, seizures and publication bans.
His practice focuses on business and civil law, mainly in the areas of construction, media law, defamation, civil and professional liability, realization of security and bankruptcy and insolvency. His practice also extends to other areas of law, including real estate, insurance and the environment.
He represents clients, contractors and subcontractors in the construction industry.
Called upon to represent media companies, Mr. Côté has expertise in defamation and charter matters.
He is also involved in shareholder disputes, notably in matters of oppression of minority shareholders, rendering of accounts and liquidation of companies.
Mr. Côté is also involved in health law matters, including institutional care and custody.
