François Pinel
Associate lawyer
Mr. Pinel's main area of practice is labour and employment law, advising and representing both private sector companies and parapublic sector organizations. His practice covers all aspects of labour relations and human resources planning.
He has solid expertise in negotiating collective agreements in the parapublic and private sectors, notably for manufacturing, agri-food, hotel and service companies. His talents as a seasoned negotiator are put to good use in complex cases where the stakes are high. He is frequently called upon to break deadlocks in sensitive cases, regularly providing strategic advice during reorganizations. He also represents employers in all aspects of union certification and labour disputes.
He regularly appears before arbitration tribunals and other bodies specializing in labour law, in disputes involving the interpretation and application of collective agreements, labour laws and human rights charters, as well as disciplinary and termination measures.
He has extensive experience in occupational health and safety, as he devotes a significant part of his professional activities to representing employers, notably in matters of compensation for employment injuries, classification for assessment purposes and financing.
